Today, Lviv will say goodbye to Heroes Roman Hrynykha and Yuriy Martynovskyi

Tomorrow, March 3, Lviv will say goodbye to two more Heroes. Roman Hrynykha and Yuriy Martynovskyi defended Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul (11 Teatralna St.), at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will be held on Rynok Square. Heroes will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical references of Heroes

 

Roman Hrynikha (November 16, 1973-February 23, 2023) from Lviv.
He studied at Secondary Secondary School of Grades I-III No. 55 of Lviv. Graduated from the Lviv Higher Professional School of Design and Construction.

After completing his studies, he served in the military in the city of Yavoriv, Lviv region.

In peacetime, he worked as a construction foreman. He was passionate about his profession.

With the beginning of a full-scale invasion, the Russian Federation came to the defense of the Motherland. He fought against the Russian invaders in the eastern direction in the ranks of the 68th separate hunting brigade named after Oleksa Dovbush of the Reserve Corps of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Roman Hrynikha is survived by his wife, two daughters, two brothers, nieces and godchildren.

 

Yuriy Martynovskyi (October 4, 1965-February 28, 2023) was born in Lviv in the family of a military man.
He studied at the former General Secondary School No. 16 of the city of Lviv (today it is the General Secondary School of Levels I-III “Leader”). He received a professional and technical education in the specialty “locksmith-mechanic”.

After completing his studies, he served in the border guards. For a long period, he worked as a car mechanic at “Avtoservice-Lada” Limited Liability Company, later as a driver at the Lviv Municipal Utility Company “Lvivvodokanal”.

In his free time, he was fond of fishing and cars, liked to do household chores and fix appliances.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, served in the 33rd separate mechanized brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Yuriy Martynovsky is survived by his mother, wife and son.
