Every day at 9 a.m., we observe a minute of silence in memory of all those who died for Ukraine because of Russian aggression.
Today Lviv region says goodbye to its defenders:
🕯 Vasyl Grabovensky
A resident of Mykolaiv, Lviv region. Junior sergeant, a serviceman of the 2nd separate Special Forces detachment of the Special Forces Centre. He died on 13 May 2024 during a military engagement on the outskirts of the village of Liptsi, Kharkiv region.
🕯️ Vasyl Marakhovskyi
A resident of the village of Korsiv, Zolochiv district. The warrior was a junior sergeant, a sanitary instructor-radiotelephone operator at the medical unit. From the first days of the full-scale invasion, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
He was killed on 9 May when an enemy fpv drone hit his evacuation vehicle. The defender was 34 years old.
🕯️ Yuriy Bai
A resident of the village of Turya, Zolochiv district. The soldier was a senior soldier of the 103rd separate brigade of territorial defence of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
He died on 10 May while being treated for injuries sustained on 22 January 2024. The defender was 43 years old.
🕯️ Vitaliy Kun
A resident of the village of Sapizhanka in the Kamianka-Buzka community.
The warrior was a junior sergeant in the grenade launcher unit of the military unit 308.
He died on 10 May, 2024, during a combat mission near the village of Robotynne, Polohiv district, Zaporizhzhia region.
🕯️ Igor Patralsky
A resident of the village Maksymovychi, Biskovytska community. He was a soldier of the military unit 9938. He died on 11 May, 2024, as a result of a mortar attack in the Donetsk region.
🕯️ Andriy Lysak
Lviv resident.
During 1998-2000, he served in the military service as a member of the Separate Logistics Battalion of the 1st Division of the National Guard of Ukraine.
With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he joined the territorial defence. In March 2022, he joined the 45th Regiment named after Oleksandr Krasitskyi to defend the state.
🕯️ Serhiy Kulay
Lviv resident.
With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, Sergeant Serhiy Mykhalchuk joined the 4th Brigade of the Operational Task Force named after the Hero of Ukraine to defend the state. He fought against the occupiers in Luhansk and Donetsk regions.
🕯️ Danylo Lukashchuk
Lviv resident.
He studied at the Lviv Physics and Mathematics Boarding Lyceum at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. Later he entered the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. He also graduated from the Oleksa Novakivskyi Lviv Art School.
At the end of February 2022, he voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend his homeland from Russian invaders. From 2023, he performed combat missions as part of the 14th separate regiment of unmanned aerial vehicles.
For personal courage, he was awarded the Golden Cross, an honorary badge of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
