Sokal in Mourning: Soldier Viktor Kuchynskyi Has Passed Away

Sokal mourns the loss of another defender – Viktor Yuriyovych Kuchynskyi (born March 6, 1977).

He was born and lived in the city of Sokal, studied at the local gymnasium, and spent most of his life working abroad.

At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in March 2022. He served as a grenadier in the 3rd mechanized unit of the 2nd mechanized platoon, 2nd mechanized company, 1st mechanized battalion of military unit A0536.

In September 2024, during battles in the Lyman sector of Donetsk Oblast, he sustained two severe injuries.

He is survived by his daughter Sofia and son Oleh. Mourning his loss are his mother Maria, sister Oksana, and nieces and nephews Anastasia, Iryna, and Yuriy.

Today, February 17, at 4:00 PM, a procession will bring the fallen Hero to the Church of Saints Peter and Paul, followed by a memorial service.
Tomorrow, he will be laid to rest in the Alley of Glory in Sokal.
