The 103rd separate brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been in the combat zone for more than a year.
The fighters are constantly increasing their military potential, mastering and expanding the range of means of destroying the enemy.
Rifle units skillfully honing their skills in the use of new types of weapons and this time demonstrated high efficiency and achieved excellent results studying the 120 mm mortar. This smooth-bore artillery weapon can be brought into combat mode in 3 minutes, capable of firing up to 22 rounds per minute, muzzle-loading and hitting targets at a distance of up to 7,100 meters.
The fighters received the necessary knowledge about the technical characteristics of the mortar, its properties and capabilities. In addition, a number of practical classes were held, during which servicemen practiced the skills of accurate aiming and coordination of calculation actions. After intensive training, the defenders achieved a high level of skill in maneuvering and effective use of the 120 mm mortar on the battlefield.
“The determination and tenacity of our servicemen during the exercises is an indisputable confirmation of their readiness to take on challenges and provide impeccable artillery support in any conditions. The goal of numerous practical exercises is to bring movements and actions to automatism, which ensures quick coordinated interaction, skillful application and effective results,” said the brigade commander, Colonel Valery Kurko.
