Stepan Matviiv Awarded Order of Courage III Class Posthumously
A defender from Zolochiv District was awarded the Order of Courage III Class. Unfortunately, posthumously.
As reported by the head of Lviv Regional State Administration, Maksym Kozytskyy, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, awarded this distinction to Stepan Matviiv. It was presented to his parents, Mrs. Maria and Mr. Ihor.
A Warrior Who Gave His Life for Ukraine
- The warrior voluntarily joined the defense of Ukraine in March 2022 as part of the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Black Zaporizhians.
- He was the senior driver of the grenade launcher platoon of the I Mechanized Battalion.
- He died on May 15, 2024, near the city of Kostiantynivka in Donetsk Oblast. He was 43 years old.
