Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to defenders Bohdan Dmytryk and Oleksandr Ivanichkin

On Wednesday, December 6, Lviv will say goodbye to servicemen Bohdan Dmytryk and Oleksandr Ivanichkin, who died at the hands of the Russian invaders while defending Ukraine. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

At 10:30 a.m. in the church of Saints Volodymyr and Olga (Symonenko St., 5), a farewell ceremony will be held for the soldier Bohdan Dmytryk.

The funeral ceremony of defenders Bohdan Dmytryk and Oleksandr Ivanichkin will begin at 12:00 in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 12:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square.

The soldiers will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical references of defenders

Bohdan Dmytryk (20.05.1987-01.12.2023). A native of Lviv.

He studied at Lyceum No. 46 named after Vyacheslav Chornovol of the Lviv City Council. He received his education at the Institute of Higher Education “Lviv University of Business and Law” (then the Institute).

During the last period, he worked as an operator setting up automatic and semi-automatic lines at the company “HALYCH PROFILE”. In his free time, he was fond of hunting, fishing and mushroom picking.

He was an extremely charismatic and kind person, a loving father and husband.

With the beginning of a full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, despite the lack of military experience, he volunteered to defend the Motherland from the invaders. Performed combat missions on the eastern front in the ranks of the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Bohdan Dmytryk is survived by his parents, wife and 3-year-old daughter.

Oleksandr Ivanichkin (21.09.1975-29.11.2023). A native of Lviv.

Studied at Lyceum No. 45 of the Lviv City Council. After graduating from school, he completed military service in the city of Yavoriv, Lviv region.

Since 1999, he lived in Italy, where he worked at a furniture factory. According to relatives, Oleksandr Ivanichkin had “golden hands” and was an exceptionally kind person.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he returned to the Motherland and volunteered to join the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Defended the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the state in the eastern direction as part of the 5th separate Kyiv assault brigade of the operational command “North” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Oleksandr Ivanichkin is survived by his mother, sister and two sons.
