The Ukrainian Junior Athletics Team Championship was held in Lutsk on 21-23 June. The national team of Lviv region won 12 medals and took second place in the overall standings.

“The victories of athletes directly depend on the development of sports infrastructure and the availability of training. If there is a place to train well, there are results. That is why the reconstruction and increase in the number of locations for sports is one of the key areas of our department’s work. Over the past five years, we have significantly improved the athletics infrastructure in Lviv region, and now these are some of the best sports facilities in Ukraine: the SKIF stadium and the arena of the summer sports training centre of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, stadiums in Busk, Sambir and Stryi. Therefore, this result, which we are proud of today, is to some extent a regularity,” said Roman Khimyak, Head of the Youth and Sports Department of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
