On 18 July, Lviv will say goodbye to defender Bohdan Hrytskiv

On Thursday, 18 July, Lviv will say goodbye to soldier Bohdan Hrytskiv, who was killed by Russian occupiers while defending Ukraine.

Lviv City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from holding entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Ss. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will be held on Rynok Square.

The soldier will be buried at Lychakiv Cemetery.

The defender’s biographical information

Bohdan Hrytskiv (29.04.1989-10.07.2024) Lviv.

Bohdan Hrytskiv (29.04.1989-10.07.2024) was a resident of Lviv.

He studied at secondary school No. 32. He first studied at the Technological Specialist College of the National Forestry University of Ukraine and then entered Lviv Polytechnic National University.

After graduation, he worked as a sales assistant at Foxtrot Limited Liability Company. Since 2012, he has been working at Lvivvodokanal, a municipal utility company in Lviv, rising from a driver to a leading engineer in the repair and construction and improvement department. In his spare time, he was fond of football. He was an extremely humane, hardworking and responsible person.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he stood up to defend the state from the Russian occupiers. He performed combat missions to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state in Kharkiv region as part of the 42nd separate mechanised brigade of the operational command “West” of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was repeatedly honoured by the military command for his personal courage.

Bohdan Hrytskiv is survived by his mother, wife and two children.
