Lviv to Honor Fallen Defenders Myroslav Napyralo and Oleksandr Volotovskyi on Monday

On Monday, December 23, the people of Lviv will pay their respects to two Heroes who sacrificed their lives in the fight against the invaders—Myroslav Napyralo and Oleksandr Volotovskyi. The Lviv City Council urges residents and visitors to join the farewell ceremony and refrain from hosting entertainment events during this time.

At 11:00 AM, the farewell ceremony and funeral service will begin at the Garrison Church of Saints Peter and Paul. Around 11:30 AM, a city farewell ceremony will take place in Rynok Square, followed by the burial of the defenders at Lychakiv Cemetery.

Biographies of the Fallen Heroes

Myroslav Napyralo (23.12.1981 – 10.12.2024)
Born in the village of Ostriv, Lviv region, Myroslav graduated from Chervonohrad Secondary School No. 4 and later obtained higher education through distance learning. He worked as an electrician and later in construction.

His loved ones remember him as a skilled craftsman who taught himself many things. He was passionate about cars and lived in various cities, including Lviv, Mariupol, and Rivne.

In the spring of 2024, Myroslav voluntarily joined the 225th Separate Assault Battalion of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, serving in Kharkiv and Kursk regions.

He is survived by his sister and two nephews.

Oleksandr Volotovskyi (“Yizhak”) (02.04.1988 – 29.08.2024)
A native of Dzhankoi in Crimea, Oleksandr trained as a locksmith and worked in construction in Kyiv before the war.

Following the full-scale invasion, he joined the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade, defending Ukraine against Russian aggression. He died on August 29, 2024, from wounds sustained in battle.

Oleksandr is remembered by his friends, comrades, and acquaintances.
