Today Drohobych community said goodbye to fallen soldier Viktor Lavrenchuk

Recently, the Drohobych community lost another Hero – Viktor Lavrenchuk, a resident of Drohobych, was killed while defending Ukraine from the enemy. Today, the body of the fallen defender was brought to his hometown.

Viktor Lavrenchuk was born on July 14, 1978. He lived in Drohobych on Sambirska Street. Later, he and his family lived in Ternopil region, where he went to school. After returning to Drohobych, he studied at the vocational school №19 to become a painter and plasterer. He worked in the security sector.

Viktor joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine on February 13, 2023, and since then has been defending the territorial integrity of his country at the forefront.

Unfortunately, while performing combat missions, on March 4, 2024, the soldier was killed.

The deceased Hero is survived by his mother and sister with her husband and children.

The funeral convoy met the body of the defender today, on March 8. The coffin with the body of the soldier was met at the Crossroads of Heroes. A short memorial service was held there, after which the funeral convoy drove with honors through the streets of the city to the central square.

A citywide farewell to the soldier was held on Rynok Square. The family, friends, comrades-in-arms, clergy, the leadership of the Drohobych community, and concerned Drohobych residents gathered there. Everyone knelt down and honored the feat of the fallen soldier, who defended his country at the cost of his own life, with a common prayer.

The funeral service was held in the Church of St. Andrew the First-Called.

The body of the fallen defender will rest in the Walk of Fame.
