Today, the Drohobych community honored a fallen Hero – 29-year-old Ukrainian defender Viktor Fedis, who lived in the village of Nyzhni Hai.
Viktor Fedis was born on January 15, 1995. He lived in Nyzhni Hai. He graduated from Nyzhni Hai secondary school and Drohobych Polytechnic Lyceum. After graduation, he worked in Kyiv.
After Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukrainian lands, Viktor volunteered to defend his native land. From March 17, 2022, he performed combat missions to defend Ukraine as part of one of the National Guard units.
Unfortunately, while performing combat missions in the Zaporizhzhia sector of the front, the soldier was killed.
The deceased defender is survived by his wife, father, mother, sister and daughter.
Today, on January 25, the funeral convoy met the body of the fallen Hero at the Crossroads of Heroes. The family, friends, comrades-in-arms, concerned citizens and the leadership of the Drohobych community gathered there. Accompanied by the clergy, a joint prayer was held at the Crossroads of Heroes.
From the crossroads, the mourning convoy headed to the deceased’s parental home in the village of Nyzhni Hai, where a parastas was held. Afterward, the funeral service will be held in the Church of St. Paraskeva in Nyzhni Hai.
The deceased will be buried in the cemetery in the village of Nyzhni Hai.
