The other day, the Drohobych community suffered another painful loss – on November 11, Vyacheslav Kotenko, a resident of Drohobych, died while defending Ukraine from the enemy. Today, the funeral convoy with the body of the fallen Hero arrived in his hometown.
The defender lived in Drohobych on Knyagini Olga Street.
During the full-scale invasion, Vyacheslav took the oath and joined the ranks of the Armed Forces in July 2022. First, as a member of the HC A-7113, and later as part of the 1st assault division, 2nd assault platoon, 3rd assault company of the HC A-4640, where he performed the duties of a sniper-grenade thrower.
Unfortunately, on November 11, 2023, during the execution of combat missions for the defense of Ukraine, a resident of Drohobycha died after coming under mortar fire in the area of Stepove settlement of Pokrovsky district of Donetsk region.
Hero’s family members left his wife, two sons and a sister.
Today, the funeral convoy with the body of the fallen Hero was brought to his hometown. After the parade at the Crossroads of Heroes, the convoy arrived at Rynok Square, where a city-wide farewell was held.
Accompanied by clergymen, the leadership of the Drohobytsk community, relatives, relatives, comrades-in-arms and all those who care, kneeling down, honored the memory of the fallen defender with a joint prayer.
Parastas will be held today at 18:00 in the chapel of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity.
The Hero’s funeral will be held tomorrow, November 18, at 11:00 a.m. in the Holy Trinity Cathedral.
The defender will be buried on the Alley of Glory.
