A warrior from Stebnyk, Mykhailo Yaroslavovych Myakush, who had been carrying out combat missions on the front line since May 2024, died defending Ukraine. Today, the funeral convoy with the hero’s body arrived in his hometown for farewell.
Mykhailo was born on April 22, 1971, in Stebnyk. A graduate of Secondary School No. 7 and the Stebnyk Vocational Lyceum, he worked as a mechanic in Truskavets.
- He was called to the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a machine gunner in the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo on May 10, 2024.
- He is survived by his wife, brother, children, and grandchildren.
The convoy arrived at the Drohobych community, where there was a meeting at Heroes’ Intersection with the participation of the family, friends, and local government leaders. After a short prayer accompanied by clergy, the procession proceeded to Stebnyk for a city-wide farewell at Shevchenko Square.
The funeral ceremony was held at the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the hero’s body will find peace at the cemetery on Mekelyty Street.
