On April 16, Lviv will bid farewell to fallen defenders Yevhen Shapovalov and Volodymyr Rozumnyi

On Wednesday, April 16, 2025, the city of Lviv will honor the memory of two fallen Heroes — Yevhen Shapovalov and Volodymyr Rozumnyi, who gave their lives defending Ukraine from Russian occupation.

The Lviv City Council urges residents and visitors to attend the memorial events and refrain from entertainment during this time.

🔹 The farewell ceremony for Volodymyr Rozumnyi will begin at 09:30 a.m. at the Church of Saints Peter and Paul in Lypnyky, Lviv region.

🔹 The joint funeral service for both soldiers will take place at 11:00 a.m. at the Garrison Church of Saints Peter and Paul in Lviv.

Following the service, around 11:30 a.m., a citywide farewell ceremony will be held at Rynok Square.

🔹 Yevhen Shapovalov will be buried at Lychakiv Cemetery.
🔹 Volodymyr Rozumnyi will be laid to rest at Holosko Cemetery (Veterans’ Field).

Yevhen Shapovalov (April 29, 1973 – March 23, 2022)

He is survived by his mother, wife, two daughters, and brother.


Volodymyr Rozumnyi (April 8, 1983 – April 14, 2025)

He is survived by his mother, wife, and daughter.
