Lviv resident Ruslan Kovalyshyn, call sign “Molfar”, was killed in action during a battle with Russian occupiers near the village of Novoyehorivka in the Svatove district of Luhansk region. His final battle took place on 6 August 2025.
Ruslan Kovalyshyn had been involved in the defence of Ukraine since 2014. At the start of the full-scale invasion he was abroad, but immediately returned home and once again took up arms.
The serviceman served in the 24th Separate Mechanised Brigade named after King Danylo and the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade. His comrades recall that during the fighting he carried the wounded from the battlefield under enemy fire, saving their lives.
In Lviv region, they emphasise that the memory of the fallen defender will remain forever, while his fellow countrymen bow their heads in mourning and extend their sincere condolences to the family of the fallen warrior.
