Residents of Mezhyrichchia in Zhydachiv Community Paid Last Respects to Fallen Ukrainian Defender Mykhailo Shchur

On December 22, 2024, the village of Mezhyrichchia in the Zhydachiv community gathered to honor the memory of 27-year-old soldier Mykhailo Shchur.

A reconnaissance specialist of the intelligence unit of military division A4574, Mykhailo Shchur died on December 17, 2024, while carrying out a mission near the village of Uspenivka in the Pokrovskyi district of Donetsk region, defending his homeland from Russian invaders.

Mykhailo Shchur was born on October 17, 1997, in Mezhyrichchia. He studied at the local school, School No. 1 in Zhydachiv, the Lviv Interregional Higher Vocational School of Railway Transport, and the Chernivtsi Railway College. He worked at the “Ular” company and was known for his kind-heartedness, sincerity, and dedication to his country.

A few years ago, Mykhailo married and started a family. He is survived by his wife and two young children.

Hundreds of people attended the farewell ceremony in his native village. The funeral in Mezhyrichchia included an honorary volley and the collective singing of Ukraine’s National Anthem.
