On the shield, our Defender – Evgeny MAKALO is returning to his homeland.
A soldier faithful to his military oath, defending the state sovereignty of Ukraine, died on December 22, 2023 in Donetsk region. And on December 24, Yevgeny should have turned 28.

MAKALO Evgeny Vitaliyovych was born in the village of Stary Yar. Later, the family moved to the village of Shklo. After graduating from school, he studied at the Lviv University of Transport Technologies and Service. After that, he worked in construction.
In January 2023, he went to defend our Motherland.
“He was very agile, dynamic, hardworking. No matter what kind of work he took on, everything came out to him.” – the words of Maria’s mother.
Yehen is survived by his daughter Veronika, mother Maria Vasylivna, father Vitaly Myronovych, brother Myron, and sisters Maria and Olga.
The prayer meeting will be held today, December 25, approximately at 3:30 p.m. near the chapel of St. App. Peter and Paul in Novoyavorivsk. Parastas will be held in the chapel at 19:00.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 26, at 2:30 p.m. in the church of St. Nicholas, Shklo. The Hero will be buried at the local cemetery.
