Freed Marine Corps Soldier from Lviv Region Returns Home from Russian Captivity

On January 15, Ukraine successfully secured the release of 25 critically ill and wounded individuals from Russian captivity. Among them were civilians and defenders of Mariupol, Azovstal, as well as regions including Kharkiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Luhansk.

One of the freed individuals is Oleh Khomych, a resident of Smorzhiv village in the Lopatyn territorial community. Born in 1998, Oleh served as a scout in the 35th Separate Marine Brigade. According to his family, he was captured near the village of Staromaiorske in the Volnovakha district of Donetsk region.

Oleh is eagerly awaited at home by his wife and two children.
