Andrii Kutsenko, a titled Ukrainian cyclist from Lviv region, died in the war

On 3 July 2024, 35-year-old Andrii Kutsenko, a 35-year-old resident of Zhovkva, Master of Sports of Ukraine of international class, winner and medallist of international competitions, participant of European and world championships, multiple champion of Ukraine, died in the war with the Russian occupiers.

For ten years (2006-2016) he represented Lviv region in the national track cycling team.

After graduating from Zhovkva School No. 1, he studied at the Lviv State University of Physical Culture.

Later, he served under contract at the summer sports training base of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian invaders, he returned from Italy, where he lived with his family, and volunteered to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine. For more than two years, he defended his homeland on different frontlines.

He fought his last battle as a member of the 47th Separate Mechanised Brigade “Magura” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The funeral service and farewell to the defender Andriy Kutsenko will take place tomorrow, 9 July.

The funeral will begin at 12 o’clock on Vicheva Square in Zhovkva.
