Eternal Memory of Pavlo Linkevych: A Year Without the Hero

Commemorating Pavlo Linkevych, Defender of Ukraine

Today marks a year since the Velykomostivska community lost its Defender, Pavlo Linkevych. He was not only a warrior but also a person who loved life, believed in Ukraine, and fought for its future.

The Life Journey of Pavlo Linkevych

Pavlo was born in the city of Sosnivka and lived in the village of Siltsi. He was educated at the Velykomostivska school-lyceum, and later at Lesia Ukrainka University, where he studied international economics and mastered foreign languages. His professional path was successful, but his true calling was the fight for Ukraine’s independence.

Dedication and Heroism at the Frontline

Despite being exempted from duty, Pavlo voluntarily went to the front in the third week of the full-scale war. His callsign – “Freeman”, meaning “free person”, completely reflected his character. Devoted to his comrades, brave, and strong, he was always the first to go into battle.

Pavlo was killed on March 2, 2024, near Ivanivske, Bakhmut district. He continued to fulfill his combat mission despite being wounded.

His memory lives in the hearts of his family, friends, and comrades who visit his grave, cherish his memories, and continue the fight he started.

Bright memory to the Hero. Thank you for your courage, bravery, and self-sacrifice for the sake of Ukraine. Eternal glory to Pavlo Linkevych! Heroes do not die!
