The soldier spent almost a year in Russian captivity.
Among those who returned home from captivity today, 17 July, is a defender from Yavoriv, Yuriy Kuzmych. This was reported by the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration Maksym Kozytskyi.
“The soldier was born in 2002. He served in the 63rd separate mechanised brigade. He has been in captivity since 21 July 2023. Almost a year! Congratulations on your return home. We bow to you on the ground and wish you a speedy recovery. We are waiting for the return of all our people,” said Maksym Kozytskyi.
In the video released by the head of the region, the soldier calls his family for the first time after his release from captivity.
“I’m going to the hospital for a check-up. I have severe problems with my stomach. I’ve been kicked in the ribs – I can’t breathe properly. They’ll give me another phone later, and I’ll call you back. Stay in touch,” the defender says into the phone.
