The community of Drohobych said goodbye to the defender Myron Kishko

On 19 July, the Drohobych region was once again in mourning as the funeral convoy with the body of the fallen Ukrainian defender Myron Kishko arrived in his native land.

Myron Kishko lived in Stebnyk. He graduated from Stebnyk Secondary School No. 7, and later from the Oil College. After completing his military service, he was engaged in construction work.

During the full-scale war, Myron received a call-up and joined the ranks of the defenders of Ukraine on 24 August 2023. He performed combat missions in defence of Ukraine as part of the A4712 military unit.

He went through Robotyne and other hot spots of the frontline, conscientiously performing combat missions to defend Ukraine.

Myron Kishko was killed on 12 July 2024, having sacrificed the most precious thing he had for his country – his life.

Today, at 15:00, the funeral convoy with the body of the defender arrived at the Heroes’ Crossroads, where the community leadership, relatives, friends and combat sworn brothers of the deceased gathered. Accompanied by clergymen, they held a joint prayer.

After the Crossroads of Heroes, the mourning convoy with the soldier’s body was taken to his hometown of Stebnyk, where a citywide farewell was held on the central Shevchenko Square. Many residents of Stebnyk came to say goodbye and to honour the hero’s feat with a joint prayer.

The funeral service will take place in the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The fallen soldier will be buried in the cemetery on Zelena Dibrova Street.

Eternal memory to the Hero!
