Drohobych hromada met two fallen Heroes – Serhii Soloviov from Drohobych and Andrii Netrunenko from Stebnychi
The other day, the Drohobych community was shocked by the sad news that two young soldiers – Serhiy Solovyov from Drohobych and Andriy Netrunenko from Stebnytsia – were killed while defending Ukraine from the enemy.
Today, the Drohobych community met the bodies of two fallen defenders
The meeting took place at the Heroes’ crossroads, where relatives, friends, comrades-in-arms and many concerned community members gathered.
After a short prayer accompanied by clergymen, the mourning convoys headed to Drohobych and Stebnyk.
In Drohobych, the funeral service was held on Rynok Square.
After the funeral, a funeral service was held at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. The hero was buried on the Walk of Fame.
Serhii Soloviov, a 28-year-old resident of Drohobych, had been in the Armed Forces of Ukraine since September 2024. He was a rifleman of the 3rd assault specialised division of the 2nd assault specialised company of the Shkval battalion, A0501.
The warrior died on 28 January, 2025, near the village of Hoholevka, Suzhansky district, Kursk region, Russia, while performing a combat mission as part of a unit.
The deceased defender was survived by his aunt and cousins.
At the same time, the funeral of the fallen defender, Andriy Netrunenko, was held in Stebnyk on Shevchenko Square. The funeral service was held in the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Hero was buried in the cemetery on Mekelyta Street.
27-year-old Andriy Netrunenko defended Ukraine from the enemy at the frontline as part of the 128th Brigade. After receiving a concussion, he underwent rehabilitation for some time. After treatment, the soldier returned to the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and defended his native land as part of the 11th separate motorised infantry battalion “Kyivan Rus”.
The soldier was killed on 5 February in the Pokrovsk sector of the frontline. The fallen defender is survived by his parents and sister.
