Today, January 2, the Drohobytsk community will meet another fallen Hero – 35-year-old Andrii Bilovskyi.
The soldier stood in defense of Ukraine since January 2023. He was a sniper shooter of the 1st detachment of the 2nd airborne assault platoon of the 9th airborne assault company of the 3rd airborne assault battalion of the A-0224 air force. Performed combat missions and passed many hot spots of the front. He was wounded in September, but returned to the front again.
From November 2023, the defender’s unit was transferred to Donetsk region, into real hell. The soldier died on December 27 this year while performing a combat mission to protect Ukraine on the Donetsk side of the front.
Andrii is survived by his parents, brother and sister.
The meeting of the mourning convoy will take place at the Crossroads of Heroes tomorrow, January 2 at 1:00 p.m. At 1:30 p.m., a city-wide farewell will be held on Rynok Square in Drohobych, after which the convoy with the Hero’s body will be taken to Ranevichy, to the defender’s parental home.
The convoy will arrive in the village at approximately 2:00 p.m., the funeral home with the body will be taken to the native yard for farewell, after which a funeral rite will be held in the church of the village of Ranevichi.
The fallen Hero will be buried at the cemetery in the village of Ranevichi.
