It was with great sorrow that a soldier from Rodatych, paratrooper Yury Maksymets, who fell on the battlefield for our independence, was met in Horodek.
Relatives, friends, acquaintances, fellow villagers of the defender joined the meeting in Horodok in large numbers. With flowers and blue-yellow Ukrainian flags, lighted candles of memory, bitter tears and fervent prayers, they met and took them on their last journey home…

The sad news about the death of Yuriy, who will forever be 34 years old, was announced on September 12 at the Horodotsk City Council. The soldier’s life ended on September 6, 2023, during a combat mission in the Zaporizhzhia region. The defender, who became a member of the heavenly army, is survived by a four-year-old daughter, mother, sister, numerous relatives and friends.
🕯 The defender’s burial will take place today at the local cemetery in the village of Rodatichi.
