Today, Lviv will say goodbye to Heroes Taras-Timofiy Havrylyshyn and Volodymyr Kacharaba

Today, November 9, Lviv will say goodbye to two more Heroes who defended Ukraine. Taras-Timofiy Havrylyshyn and Volodymyr Kacharaba died in the battle with the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremonies and refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral ceremony will take place in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, the soldiers will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

At 11:00 a.m., the funeral ceremony of Taras-Timofiy Havrylyshyn will begin, at 11:30 a.m. – a city farewell ceremony on Rynok Square.

At 3:00 p.m., Volodymyr Kacharaba’s funeral ceremony will take place, at 3:30 p.m. – a city farewell ceremony on Rynok Square.

Biographical references of Heroes

 

Taras-Timofiy Havrylyshyn (“TeTe”, “Harry”) (April 20, 1985-November 1, 2022) from Lviv.
He studied at the Yevshan Lviv Gymnasium. Graduated with honors from the Faculty of Geography of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. In 1997, he became a member of the Lviv city youth public organization “Stanytsia Lviv Plastu-National Scout Organization of Ukraine”, was one of the main instructors of the 25th camp of the Chornomortsi UPS named after St. Nicholas.

He was involved in the organization of educational river rafting trips, boat trips and sailing trips on the Cossack seagull “Spas”. At the same time, he worked in the field of tourism: he laid out tourist routes through the Carpathians, was a tour guide.

In recent years, he has been engaged in the construction of boats of various types to order. He regularly participated in water tourism competitions.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he volunteered to defend the Motherland from the terrorist state. At first, he conducted training for individual units, later he served in the ranks of the 45th separate artillery brigade of the Reserve Corps of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

For many years of spreading the ideology of Ukrainian seafaring, he was awarded the commemorative medal “100th Anniversary of the Flag of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine”.

Taras Havrylyshyn is survived by his mother, sister and friends.

 

Volodymyr Kacharaba (September 24, 1974-October 20, 2022). A native of Lviv.
He studied at Lyceum No. 51 named after Ivan Franko of the Lviv City Council. Graduated from the Separate Structural Unit “Automotive and Road Professional College of the Lviv Polytechnic National University”.

After completing his studies, he joined the military service. He was a member of the peacekeeping personnel performing tasks on the territory of the former Republic of Yugoslavia.

In peacetime, he worked at the limited liability company “Aeneas Company”.

Participant of the Anti-Terrorist Operation. Defended the state from the invaders as part of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo of the operational command “West” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he joined the ranks of the 68th separate hunting brigade named after Oleksa Dovbush of the Reserve Corps of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Volodymyr Kacharaba is survived by a son and a sister.
