On Saturday, May 27, Lviv said goodbye to Hero Oleksandr Palamarchuk, who died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service began at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony took place on Rynok Square. The Hero will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical reference of the Hero

Oleksandr Palamarchuk (October 7, 1977-May 23, 2023). A native of the city of Zhovkva, Lviv region. He studied at the Zhovkiv institution of general secondary education I-III degrees No. 2 of the Lviv region. He graduated from the Lviv National University of Nature Management with a degree in “engineer, construction worker”.

During the last years, he worked at “Vip-Alliance Construction Company” LLP.

With pleasure, he devoted himself to children, was fond of fishing and mushroom picking.

With the beginning of a full-scale invasion, he joined the ranks of the territorial defense as a volunteer. He fought against the Russian invaders in Kharkiv Oblast, Donetsk Oblast and Luhansk Oblast as part of the 125th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade of the “West” Regional Department of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Oleksandr Palamarchuk is survived by his wife and two children.
