Today Lviv region says goodbye to five defenders

Every day at 9 o’clock, we observe a minute of silence in memory of all those who died for Ukraine because of Russian aggression.

A native of Mariupol, Donetsk region. When the full-scale invasion began, he immediately joined the local territorial defence. After receiving severe injuries, he was hospitalised at the Azovstal plant.

He was held captive in Olenivka and in Russia. He returned to his homeland only after 200 days of imprisonment. Three months later, without waiting for his full recovery, he returned to his comrades-in-arms. He defended the state in the ranks of the 109th separate territorial defence brigade of the Regional Directorate “East” of the Territorial Defence Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

He died on 11 November 2023. At the age of 60.

🕯️Богдан Oboist

A resident of the town of Vynnyky. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he joined the territorial defence. He fought as part of the 125th separate territorial defence brigade of the regional directorate “West” of the Territorial Defence Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He died on 18 August 2024. He was 35 years old.

🕯️Олег Protsailo

A resident of Lviv. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he joined the 3rd Border Guard Detachment named after the Hero of Ukraine Colonel Yevhen Pikus of the Eastern Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service. He was awarded the honorary badge of the Armed Forces of Ukraine “Golden Cross”. He died on 19 August 2024. At the age of 26.

🕯️Віталій Kolosovskyi

A resident of the village of Ozhydiv, Zolochiv district. Back in 2015, he voluntarily came to the defence of Ukraine. He defended his homeland as a member of the 54th separate mechanised brigade named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa. He was seriously wounded in Donetsk region and demobilised. He died on 22 August 2024. He was 47 years old.

🕯️Андрій Maksymiv

A resident of the village of Cherneve, Mostyska community. He was a senior soldier and senior driver of the reconnaissance platoon of the 2nd Infantry Battalion, military unit A7015.

He died on 18 August 2024 during a combat mission near the village of Nevske, Luhansk region.
