Today Lviv region says goodbye to six defenders
Mykhailo Batiuk
A resident of the village of Berlin, Zolochiv district. He held the position of a line operator, supervisor of the communication department.
He died on 18 September 2024 near the village of Ivanivske, Bakhmut district, Donetsk region, during a combat mission. He was 44 years old.
Andrii Ruzhylo
Originally from Stryi. He was a private, a regulator of the commandant’s office. He died on 22 September 2024 while performing a combat mission. The warrior was 47 years old.
Maksym Romaniuk
A resident of Lviv.
He took part in the events of the Revolution of Dignity.
With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he joined the territorial defence. He performed combat missions in the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions in the 125th separate territorial defence brigade of the Western Regional Directorate. He was recognised for personal courage by the brigade command.
Dmytro Volynets
He was born in the village of Babii, Dobrosynsko-Magerivska community, Lviv district. The warrior was the senior gunner of the machine gun section of the machine gun platoon of the military unit A4026. He died near the village of Synkivka, Kupiansk district, Kharkiv region. He was 52 years old.
Ihor Petesh
Originally from Drohobych.
With the start of the full-scale invasion, he voluntarily joined the 3rd Border Guard Detachment named after the Hero of Ukraine, Colonel Yevhen Pikus, to defend Ukraine.
He was always on the frontline. He was wounded twice and had many shrapnel wounds.
The defender died on 20 March during an artillery attack.
Roman Glushko
A resident of the village Horbkiv, Chervonohrad district. He served in the military unit 2418 of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. He died on 25 September while undergoing treatment. The soldier was 55 years old.
