Today Lviv region says goodbye to its defenders

Every day at 9 a.m., we observe a minute of silence in memory of all those who died for Ukraine because of Russian aggression.

 

🕯 Mykhailo Malynivskyi

Mykhailo Malynivskyi

A native of the village of Ranevychi, Drohobych district. In 2014, he defended Ukraine during the ATO. In the first days of the enemy’s full-scale invasion, he returned to Ukraine from abroad and stood up to defend his homeland. Since 11 August 2022, Mykhailo has been defending Ukraine in the military unit A2847. In October 2024, he was transferred to the military unit A7013 to the position of senior rifleman-operator of a platoon of a mechanised battalion, where he was promoted to the rank of senior soldier. The defender died on 13 January while performing combat missions on the outskirts of Novodanylivka, Zaporizhzhia region.

🕯️ Myron Kovalskyi

🕯️ Myron Kovalskyi

A resident of the village of Karachyniv, Ivano-Frankivsk community. He was a soldier of the 68th Ranger Brigade. The soldier died on 3 May, 2024 near the village Semenivka, Pokrovsky district, Donetsk region. He had been missing since 9 May 2024. On 18 January, after an examination, his death was confirmed.

Andrii Laptuta

A resident of Sheptytske.

He served as an assistant grenade launcher in the 33rd separate rifle battalion, and in February 2023 was discharged from the army for family reasons. Unfortunately, on 21 January, the 31-year-old soldier’s heart stopped.

A resident of the village of Zahirya, Rudkivska community.

He served as a sapper driver of the engineer department of the military unit A3425.
He died on 15 January near the village of Kurilovka, Suzhansky district, Kursk region, Russian Federation.

A resident of Lviv.

After completing his studies, he did his military service. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he defended his homeland from the invaders. He performed combat missions in the ranks of the 27th separate rifle battalion. The soldier died on 13 January 2025.

🕯️ Bohdan Matiykiv

🕯️ Bohdan Matiykiv

A native of the village of Oporets, Lviv region.

After the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he entered the Main Training Centre of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine named after Major General Ihor Momot. He served in the Rivne, Cherkasy and Kharkiv regions. The soldier died on 20 January.
