Today Lviv region says goodbye to six defenders

Every day at 9 o’clock, we observe a minute of silence in memory of all those who died for Ukraine because of Russian aggression.

 

🕯 Vasyl Dykyi

Vasyl Dykyi

A resident of the village of Poltva, Zolochiv district. He defended our country in the ranks of the 103rd separate brigade of territorial defence named after Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky of the 64th battalion of the mortar battery. He defended the country from the beginning of the full-scale invasion. The defender was 28 years old.

🕯️ Oleh Kuzenko

Oleg Kuzenko

Originally from the town of Novyi Rozdil.

He was a member of the Lviv Regional Council of the VI convocation from 2010 to 2014. Public and political activist, ATO veteran, participant of both revolutions.

He was a senior mechanic-driver of the mechanised unit of the 24th separate mechanised brigade named after King Danylo. He had been missing since March 2022, and his death was confirmed in early 2025. The soldier was 55 years old.

🕯️ Ivan Kopach

🕯️ Ivan Kopach

Born in the village of Horodkivka, Drohobych district. He was the chief sergeant of the mechanised battalion of the military unit A4722. He defended the state from the first days of the full-scale invasion.

He was killed while performing a combat mission on 18 December in the Avdiivka sector of the frontline, but was considered missing for more than a year. Only now has it been possible to officially confirm the identity of the deceased and return his body for burial.

🕯️ Vitaliy Kohut

🕯️ Vitalii Kohut

He lived in Shcheptytske. He served as a senior shooter-operator of the military unit A7154. The soldier died on 24 January while on holiday at home. He was 29 years old.

🕯️ Mykhailo Yuskiv

🕯️ Mykhailo Yuskiv

A resident of Lviv.

With the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, he stood up to defend the state from the Russian invaders. He performed combat missions in Donetsk region in the ranks of the 155th separate mechanised brigade named after Anna Kyivska. The defender died on 19 January.

🕯️ Mykhailo Osym

🕯️ Mykhailo Osym

A resident of Lviv.

After the start of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he joined the 3rd Battalion Tactical Group of the 82nd separate airborne assault brigade of the Bukovyna Brigade to defend his homeland. Unfortunately, the defender died on 19 January.
