Today Lviv region says goodbye to seven defenders
Volodymyr Myskiw
A resident of Sambir. Junior sergeant, service number of the machine gun compartment of the machine gun platoon of the mechanised battalion of the 33rd separate mechanised brigade of the military unit A4447. He died on 28 September in Donetsk region while performing combat missions. The soldier was 57 years old.
Yurii Shpilka
A native of Zhuravno village.
He was the gunner of the air assault platoon of the military unit A1910. He died on 16 August 2024 as a result of an air strike near the village of Kosytsia, Kursk region. Since then, he was considered missing. The soldier was 29 years old.
Andriy Merchuk
A native of Stryi. He was the operator of a platoon of anti-tank guided missiles of the fire support company of the 2nd parachute battalion. He died on 1 October near the village of Lysivka, Donetsk region. He was 37 years old.
Yevhen Bobkov
A resident of Enerhodar. After the start of the full-scale invasion, his family moved to Lviv. Later, Yevhen joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He performed combat missions in the eastern direction as a member of the 24th separate mechanised brigade named after King Danylo of the operational command “West” of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He died on 28 September. He was 44 years old.
Igor Ivanovich
A native of the village of Zaluzhzhia. In June 2024, the warrior joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the 80th separate airborne assault Galician brigade. He died on 13 September in the Kursk region while performing a combat mission. The defender was 36 years old.
Stepan Holubinko
A resident of the Boryslav community. After the full-scale invasion, he stood up to defend Ukraine. He was killed on 28 September near the village of Synkivka, Kharkiv region, while performing a combat mission. He was 43 years old.
Rostyslav Prokopchuk
A resident of the village of Novostavtsi in the Lopatyn territorial community. With the beginning of the full-scale war, he volunteered to join the National Guard of Ukraine. He was an inspector of the Border Guard Service of the highest category, the head of the 3rd department of the Border Guard Commandant’s Office of Rapid Response of the military unit 9938. He died on 2 October near the village of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region.
