Lviv region says goodbye to eight defenders today
Roman Kot
A resident of the village of Navariya, Pustomyty community. He was a junior sergeant, senior gunner of a fire support company of an infantry battalion. He had been missing for 2 years, and only now his body was found and identified. He died at the age of 47.
Volodymyr Zatkhei
A resident of the village of Derevliany, Kamianka-Buzka community. He was the junior sergeant, commander of the rifle division of the rifle company of the military unit A4821. He died on 25 September 2024 near the village of Novodanilivka, Zaporizhzhia region. He was 39 years old.
Ivan Kovtalo
Born in the village of Rudnyky, he lived in the village of Hirske, Mykolaiv community.
He was a grenade launcher of the mechanised division of the military unit A4576. He died while performing a combat mission as a result of fire from enemy artillery and mortar systems, FPV drones near the village of Kozacha Loknya, Kursk region, Russia. The warrior was 40 years old.
Ostap Smolynets
Originally from the village of Ustia, Mykolaiv community. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he first volunteered, then voluntarily joined the 2nd separate Galician brigade to defend the state from the occupiers. He performed combat missions in the eastern part of Ukraine.
Ruslan Dostayatskyi
A resident of Lviv. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he stood up to defend the state from the invaders. He defended the country in the ranks of the 5th separate assault brigade of the Kyiv Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He performed combat missions in the Donetsk region.
Taras Kardash
He lived in Drohobych.
On 21 February, 2023, he bravely defended his native land from the enemy. He performed combat missions as part of the 10th Brigade of the 8th separate mountain assault battalion. He was a UAV operator.
Mykola Korkishko
He lived in the village of Dobrohostiv, Truskavets community. The defender was killed during a combat mission on 25 March. He was 47 years old.
Rostyslav Kulyk
Born in Boryslav, Drohobych district.
He performed combat missions near the village of Obukhivka, Korenivka district, Kursk region. He died on 21 September.
