Every day at 9:00 a.m., we observe a moment of silence to honor the memory of those who perished defending Ukraine against Russian aggression. Today, the Lviv region bids farewell to brave defenders who sacrificed their lives for the country’s freedom.
The defenders honored today:
- Roman Malchevskyi
A resident of Sheptychi village in Rudky community. He served as a rifleman-medic in the motorized infantry unit of military base A4267. He died on December 19 near the village of Berestove-Vyimka in Donetsk region at the age of 42. - Orest Kovalchuk
Born in Volove village, Bibrka community. A soldier of the 95th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade. He died on December 17 during a combat mission near the village of Pohrebky in Russia’s Kursk region. He was 51 years old. - Vitalii Kryshtal
Born in Brankovanove village, Odesa region. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he served in the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade. He sustained a fatal injury on November 16 during a battle with Russian invaders. He was 45 years old. - Yurii Popyk
A native of Sukhovolya village. He served in the State Special Transport Service and later joined the 1st Separate Brigade named after Prince Lev. He died in Donetsk region on December 11 at the age of 34. - Ivan Andreiv
A resident of Yasnivtsi village. He voluntarily joined the fight against the occupiers in February 2022 as part of the 80th Airborne Assault Brigade. He died on December 16 at the age of 51. - Yaroslav Semchyshyn
Originally from Verbiv village, Ternopil region, later relocated to Lviv. He served in the 36th Separate Marine Brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Bilynskyi. He died on December 17, a day after his 44th birthday. - Vasyl Tverdak
Born in Zapytiv village, Kamianka-Buzka community, and later moved to Boryslav. He joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the full-scale war but passed away due to health issues on December 19 at the age of 54.
