Today in Lviv Oblast they are saying goodbye to defenders

Mykhailo Vartovnyk

A native of Lviv. After completing his studies, he served in the ranks of the 45th Regiment named after Oleksandr Krasitsky of the Western Operational Territorial Unit of the National Guard of Ukraine. From the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he became a member of the 116th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the 10th Army Corps of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend the country. He was awarded numerous awards for his personal contribution to the defense of the state. The soldier is survived by his parents, wife, two children and a brother.

Volodymyr Oleshnyi

A native of the village of Gamalivka, Lviv region.

From the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, despite his lack of military experience, he volunteered to defend the country in the ranks of the 10th separate rifle battalion. After military training abroad, he joined the 116th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the 10th Army Corps of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was repeatedly awarded by the military command for his personal contribution to the defense of the state. The soldier is survived by his grandmother, parents, wife, brother and sister and their families.

Oleg Bohenek

A native of Lviv. After completing the training, he defended the country in the eastern direction as part of the 214th separate special battalion OPFOR of the International Center for Peacekeeping and Security of the National Academy of Ground Forces named after Hetman Petr Sahaidachny. The soldier is survived by his mother, sister and 8-year-old son.

Ivan Oprysko

A resident of the village of Rudnyki, Mykolaiv community.

The soldier died in the line of duty during hostilities near the settlement of Terna, Donetsk region.

Ihor Ganevich

A native of Strya. The assistant shooter of the grenade launcher of the mechanized battalion of the military unit. He was called up to serve in the Stryi military unit, and later served in the navy. At the beginning of March 2022, he volunteered to defend Ukraine. Died while performing a combat mission near Novoprokopivka in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Andriy Kupyak

A resident of Murovane village, Belz community. Served in military unit A7075. Died on September 27, 2023 as a result of mortar shelling near the village of Novoprokopivka, Zaporizhzhia region.

Stepan Vasko

A resident of Belz, Chervonograd district. Served in military unit A4635. Since November 24, 2022, he was considered missing. On September 21, 2023, the defender’s body was exhumed and a DNA examination was conducted, according to which the deceased Stepan was identified.
