Junior sergeant Oleh Dushnyi and Yurii Zinko from the Belzka community were killed in the battle for Ukraine
It is with deep sorrow that the Belzka City Council announces the irreparable loss of a resident of the city, Oleh Dushnyi, who was killed in the battle for Ukraine’s independence.
🔹 O leh Dushnyi Yaroslavovych Dushnyi, born in 1995, Junior Sergeant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, died on 11 April, 2025, during a combat mission near the village of Oleshnya, Suzhansky district, Kursk region, Russia.
Oleh’s military career began back in 2014 – he was a participant in the ATO/JFO, went through the hell of Sloviansk and Debaltseve. When the full-scale invasion began, Oleh did not hesitate to return to the Armed Forces, remaining loyal to his oath and the state until his last breath.
We express our sincere condolences to the Hero’s wife Zoryana, his parents, family, comrades-in-arms and all his loved ones.
Oleh’s funeral will take place on Thursday, 17 April. At 11:00, the funeral cortege will leave Lviv via Rava-Ruska and Uhniv. In Belga, the Hero will be met from Staivka. The funeral procession will go down Sichovykh Striltsiv Street, then to his home, then to St Nicholas Church (UGCC), where the funeral service will take place. After that, the Hero will be taken to the local cemetery through the city centre and Mickiewicz Street.
We also regret to inform you of another painful loss – a resident of the village of Murovane, Yuriy Zinko , died
🔹 Yurii Volodymyrovych Zinko, born in 1997, a junior sergeant, gave his life on 10 April 2025 as a result of enemy artillery shelling while performing a combat mission near Petropavlivka, Kharkiv region.
From the first days of the Great War, Yuriy stood up to defend Ukraine. A brave warrior, a sincere patriot, a kind man with a big heart – he left a bright mark in the memory of everyone who knew him.
We express our sincere condolences to his wife Vira, grandmother, brother, family and friends. The loss of Yuriy is a wound that will remain with us forever.
The date and time of the funeral will be announced separately.
