Today, January 23, the community of Sokal gathered with tears in their eyes and grief in their hearts to welcome the cortege carrying the body of Hero Taras Polishchuk, a defender of Ukraine and a resident of the village of Velyke.
The sorrow and despair caused by this loss have once again enveloped our community. The brutal war waged by the Russian Federation continues to claim the lives of our bravest defenders. The pain felt by Taras’s family, friends, and comrades is indescribable.
Residents of Sokal, along with people from his village and visitors, honored the fallen Hero. They knelt as the cortege passed, paying their respects and expressing their gratitude to the warrior who gave his life defending Ukraine’s independence.
Taras Polishchuk fell on January 13, 2025, around 1:40 a.m., while performing a combat mission. His life was tragically cut short by a strike from an FPV drone in the area of Sverdlikove, Kursk region, Russian Federation.
