In Lviv, a 58-year-old man stole personal belongings and a phone from a girl on the street

The day before, a concerned citizen ran up to the patrol policemen on Horodotska Street and reported a suspicious man.

She said that she had noticed an unknown man whose smartphone was constantly ringing and displaying the words “mum” and “dad” in turn.

Having received the man’s description, the patrol policemen immediately went in search of him. Having found the said person, the police conducted a superficial check. During the preventive measure, the 58-year-old citizen’s phone rang. He could not explain who was calling and whose gadget it was.

The patrol policemen picked up the phone and found out that the phone and a waist bag with belongings had been stolen from the caller’s daughter on Kleparivska Street.

The victims of the theft filed a complaint. The man was detained in accordance with Article 208 (Detention by an authorised person) of the CPC of Ukraine. He faces liability for theft committed under martial law.

We thank the citizen for his concern and the patrol policemen for their prompt and accurate actions.
