Tomorrow, January 4, Lviv will say goodbye to Andrii Rybak, who died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. The Hero will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Route of the funeral procession: Garrison Church of St. App. Peter and Paul UGCC (Tetralna Street, 11) – sq. Cathedral – square Rynok (city farewell ceremony) – str. Ruska – st. Basement – st. Volodymyr Vinnichenko – square Soborna – st. Pekarska – str. Shimzeriv – st. Mechnikova – Lychakiv cemetery.

 

Biographical reference of the Hero
Andriy Rybak (September 27, 1995-December 29, 2022) from Lviv.

 

Studied at Lyceum No. 93 of the Lviv City Council. Graduated from Lviv Polytechnic National University, majoring in automobile transport. At the same time, he attended the military department at the National Academy of Land Forces named after Hetman Pyotr Sagaidachny.

After completing his studies, he decided to devote himself to military affairs and entered the academy under a contract, holding the position of head of the course.

He was fond of military art, participated in knightly tournaments and sword fights.

Senior lieutenant. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he fought against the Russian invaders as part of the 355th training mechanized regiment of the 184th training center of the National Academy of Ground Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny.

Andriy Rybak’s life credo was: “The main thing is to act with dignity at all times.”

The Hero is survived by his parents, brother and wife.
