On Saturday, Lviv will say goodbye to Hero Maryan Klimkovsky

Tomorrow, February 18, Lviv will say goodbye to Maryan Klimkovsky, who died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. The Hero will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Volodymyr Vinnichenko – square Soborna – st. Pekarska – str. Shimzeriv – st. Mechnikova – Lychakiv cemetery.

We will remind you that tomorrow in the afternoon in Lviv they will say goodbye to Oleksandr Sozansky, who died while defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. Farewell will begin at 4:00 p.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 16:30 there will be a city farewell ceremony on Rynok Square. Therefore, the Hero will go to his native Sambor for his eternal rest.

Biographical reference of the Hero

Maryan Klimkovsky (27.08.1993-10.02.2023). Born in the city of Boryslav, Lviv region.

He studied at the Zhydachiv institution of general secondary education of the I-III degrees No. 1 named after the Hero of Ukraine Taras Matviyev, after the 8th grade he entered the Lviv Physics and Mathematics Lyceum at the LNU named after Ivan Franko. He graduated from the Institute of Computer Sciences and Information Technologies of the Lviv Polytechnic National University.

He held the position of an engineer for the assembly of materials at Leoni Wiring Systems UA GMBH LLC, later worked in the aviation sector, was engaged in drawing up international flight routes at the company “RocketRoute Ltd”.

Since 2020, he has worked in the field of international transportation. In his free time, he was fond of fishing, cycling, and the art of origami. He was in love with Lviv and dreamed of getting Siberian husky dogs.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, he defended the Motherland from the invaders, underwent military training in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. He fought against the terrorist state in the ranks of the 35th separate marine brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Ostrogradsky of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Took part in the liberation of Kherson region and settlements in Donbas.

Maryan Klimkovsky is survived by his mother, grandmother and godmother.
