The Death of Yuriy Varlamov: Drohobych Residents to Bid Farewell to the Hero

While defending Ukraine, Drohobych native Yuriy Varlamov, who had been part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine since July 2024, died. He was born on April 8, 1979, in Drohobych and worked as a plumber at a Drill Plant. Varlamov joined Ukraine’s defenders on July 4, 2024, received training in Poland, and fought on the front lines.

The warrior’s life was cut short on October 8, 2024, during a combat mission near Novoselydivka in Donetsk region. For a long time, the warrior was considered missing, but his death has now been officially confirmed. The Hero’s body will be brought back to his home community for farewell and eternal rest.

*The Drohobych City Council expresses sincere condolences to the family, relatives, and friends of Yuriy Varlamov.* The cortege with the body will arrive in Drohobych tomorrow, May 21, with a meeting scheduled at 1:00 PM at the Heroes’ Crossing.

*The last farewell is planned for 1:30 PM at Market Square,* – report representatives of the local authorities.
