The Sokal Region Loses Another Hero in the Fight for Ukraine’s Independence
Only today did the Sokal region bid farewell to Hero Ihor Svystun, when they again received the sad news of more losses. In the battle for Ukraine, its freedom, and independence, Hero OLEH VOLODYMYROVYCH STRILETS, a resident of the city of Sokal, was killed.
Biography of Oleh Strilets
Oleh Volodymyrovych Strilets was born on March 15, 1988, in Sokal. His mother is Svitlana Andriiivna Strilets, and his father is Volodymyr Petrovych Strilets. He lived and studied in the city of Sokal at School No. 5. He graduated from the school in 2003 and entered a vocational school, completing his education in 2006.
Service and Memory Tribute
He was drafted into military service on May 28, 2024. For a long time, Oleh Strilets was considered missing, but now his body has been returned home. We will welcome the Hero Oleh Strilets’ body on April 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM in Sokal near the church of St. Peter and Paul, followed immediately by a funeral service and burial rite. He will find eternal rest at the Avenue of Fame in Sokal. Eternal memory to the Hero!
