Tomorrow, on the territory of the Drohobych community, there will be a mourning ceremony to receive the body of the fallen Hero – Oleg Yakymiv, who gave his life defending Ukraine. Oleg Yakymiv, a resident of the village of Rykhtychi, was a senior shooter-operator and was drafted into the Armed Forces on February 7, 2024. Yakymiv actively participated in military operations on the front lines, but contact with him was lost on April 28.
After a long period of searches and lack of information, the soldier’s relatives were forced to accept his silent absence until they received official confirmation of his death just a week ago. The memorial gathering will start tomorrow at 1:00 PM at the Heroes’ intersection, and the coffin with the Hero’s body will be transported to his home in Rykhtychi.
The panikhida will take place at 7:00 PM that same day, and the official funeral services will be held the next day, January 30 at 1:00 PM, at St. Vasyl Church in the village of Rykhtychi, where Oleg Yakymiv will be buried in the local cemetery. Eternal memory to the Hero of Ukraine!
