Yesterday, the Truskavets community said goodbye to defender Svyatoslav Panchenko

On March 27, in Truskavets, a young 30-year-old soldier, sergeant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Svyatoslav Panchenko, was laid to rest.

The sad news was reported in the Truskavets city council.

His life path was short but rich. Svyatoslav was born on July 7, 1993 in the village of Popove in the Poltava region in a large family. After getting an education, he started a family and, together with his wife Maryana, began to arrange a family nest in Truskavets. Children were born here, they grow up here, and it was with our city that Svyatoslav’s future life plans were connected. He was life-loving, honest, fair, he dreamed of building the community and the state, he dreamed that he would walk at his children’s weddings, wait for his grandchildren. I dreamed…

The damn war canceled Svyatoslav’s plans, as well as millions of other Ukrainians. Carried service, and carried it exemplary. He did not refuse to go to hot spots, to the front line, because he knew – who but him? Unfortunately, the war cut short the life of a young sergeant – Svyatoslav Panchenko died on March 19, 2024, at the age of 30.

A sad funeral procession left today from the chapel of the church of St. Nicholas, led by the fathers of the city and villages of our community. The presence of residents of the village of Oriv, where Svyatoslav was officially registered, was numerous. Those with whom he had to serve and share everyday, bad, joys and difficulties of army life gathered in large numbers to say goodbye to their friend and comrade. Residents of our community carried the Hero’s coffin with a traditional bow on their knees.

Svyatoslav Panchenko, like thousands of other Ukrainian Heroes, gave his life for us, protecting every civilian, peaceful resident from the aggressor, occupier, enemy. He pushed all his dreams and plans to the background in order to fulfill his sacred civic duty to the Motherland, and paid the highest price – the price of his own life.

May the memory of the warrior-Hero Svyatoslav Panchenko be eternal, may the earth be his fluff, and may the all-merciful Lord grant him the Kingdom of Heaven…
