The meeting was attended by representatives of the Western Regional Center of the Coordination Staff for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the National Police of Ukraine, the Pension Fund of Ukraine, the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo, and the Office of the Human Rights Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
During the meeting, a representative of the Office of the Human Rights Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine noted that information on prisoners of war and missing servicemen is recorded in the unified register of Defense Forces of the National Information Bureau. All Protectors in this register participate in the exchange procedure.
During the meeting, the families raised the topic of criminal cases and court decisions issued against our Defenders, and discussed whether this affects the exchange processes. The representative of the Coordination Staff emphasized that Ukraine also returns those Defenders against whom criminal cases have been initiated in the aggressor country or court “sentences” have been received. The process of returning this category of prisoners, as well as others, continues.
In addition, representatives of the Pension Fund answered the questions of families regarding financial payments to families and problems that arise in the process of drawing up documents.
