Captain Yuriy Zhukovets of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine and the Order of the Golden Star by a Presidential Decree. He demonstrated personal courage, heroism and selflessly serves the Ukrainian people, protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state.
Captain Zhukovets demonstrated high professionalism, determination and incredible courage in difficult combat conditions on the frontline. His contribution to the defence of the Motherland has become an example for all those who defend Ukraine. The title of Hero of Ukraine with the Order of the Golden Star recognises his exceptional heroism on the battlefield.
Yuriy Zhukovets was born in Radekhiv. Before the full-scale invasion, he ran his own real estate agency. However, on 3 March 2022, he voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At first, he served in the 216th Battalion of the 125th Territorial Defence Brigade, where he led a platoon of reconnaissance. Later, he commanded a reconnaissance platoon in the 202nd Battalion of the 103rd Brigade. Currently, Yuriy serves in the 103rd separate territorial defence brigade and holds the rank of captain.
Yuriy is currently undergoing treatment at the Kyiv Regional Clinical Hospital. We wish him a speedy recovery and thank him for his dedication to Ukraine.
