An emotional and long-awaited event has taken place in the Sokal community — their indomitable Hero, Nazariy Kurtyanyk from the village of Zavishen, has finally returned home.
After enduring three years of captivity and severe torture, he is once again on Ukrainian soil.
Many in the Sokal region know Nazariy as a gifted accordionist whose concerts once filled halls with warmth and music. From the very first day of the full-scale war, he joined the front lines to defend Ukraine. He was captured during the evacuation from Azovstal, where he stood with his fellow soldiers in a heroic defense.
The community welcomed Nazariy with tears of joy and deep pride in his unbreakable spirit. Only he and God know the full extent of the suffering he endured in enemy captivity. Through unwavering faith and the tireless efforts of his loved ones, he managed to survive and return home. Special gratitude goes to his parents — Mr. Volodymyr and Mrs. Lyudmyla — who fought day and night for their son’s freedom and never stopped praying.
Nazar, thank you for your courage, your loyalty to Ukraine, and your incredible strength. We are proud to see you home again. May this Easter be a symbol of hope for every family waiting for their Defender, and may joyful news soon reach them all.
