Earlier, the Hero was posthumously awarded the Order “For Courage” of the III degree.
Vasyl Leliv, call sign “Lvivskyi”, is a native of the village of Volosianka, Slavska community. He came to the defence of Ukraine in 2014-2015 and took part in the anti-terrorist operation as part of the 58th separate motorised infantry brigade in the Donetsk sector. After the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Leliv, with his military experience, went back to the front. This time, he defended his homeland as part of the 125th separate territorial defence brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where he was a sergeant and driver of an anti-tank unit of a fire support company.
The soldier died on 17 January 2023 near the village of Zarichne, Donetsk region. At the time of his death, he was 36 years old.
