It was on August 29, 2014 that one of the most tragic episodes of the Russian-Ukrainian war before the full-scale invasion took place – the withdrawal of Ukrainian soldiers from the encirclement near Ilovaisk. The Russian leadership, having violated the agreement, gave the order to shoot the columns of our defenders who were leaving the encirclement through the “green corridor”.
It is our duty to always remember our Heroes. They became a symbol of dignity, because each of them committed a feat by rebelling against the occupiers. The highest price has been paid for our future.
The Sokal community has already lost 39 Heroes. They became soldiers of the Heavenly Army and continue to protect us. Now from heaven.
We bow our heads low in front of the loved ones and relatives of our Defenders in honor of each Hero, although we understand that no words will be able to ease the pain of loss.
We remember everyone who gave their lives defending Ukraine! After all, Heroes are alive as long as their memory lives on…
