Tomorrow Lviv will say goodbye to defenders Marian Ryshko and Volodymyr Mylyan

 

On Monday, 26 August, Lviv will say goodbye to two soldiers who died in action while defending Ukraine – Marian Ryshko and Volodymyr Mylyan. Lviv City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremonies and to refrain from holding entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service for defender Marian Ryshko will begin at 9:00 a.m. with a memorial service at the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul of the OCU in Davydiv. Then, at 11:00, in the Garrison Church of the Apostles Peter and Paul in Lviv, a service will be held. Peter and Paul in Lviv, a funeral service will be held, and at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. The soldier will then be buried at Lychakiv Cemetery.

Volodymyr Mylyan’s funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of the Apostles Peter and Paul. Peter and Paul, and at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will be held on Rynok Square. The defender will be buried at Lychakiv Cemetery.

Biographical information on the defenders

Marian Ryshko (20.03.1983-19.08.2024) Born in the village of Hrushev, Lviv region.

He studied at the Taras Shevchenko Lyceum in Davydivka of the Davydivka Village Council. He graduated from the former Vocational School No. 53 in Lviv. Lviv.

After graduation, he worked in the transport sector, and for the last few years – abroad. In his spare time, he was fond of gardening and loved travelling. He had a wide circle of friends, as he was an extremely “honest and fair man”. Since 2005, he was a registered Cossack of the Pustomyty region of the Lviv regional branch of the Cossacks of Ukraine.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he defended the state from the Russian occupiers. He performed combat missions to defend the independence and territorial integrity of the state as part of the 103rd separate brigade of territorial defence named after Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky of the operational command “West” of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Marian Ryshko is survived by his mother, brother and sister.

Volodymyr Myliian (06.02.1987-18.08.2024) Lviv resident.

Volodymyr Myliian (06.02.1987-18.08.2024) was a resident of Lviv.

He studied at the secondary school No. 31 in Lviv. During his school years, he was actively involved in sports. After graduating from the 9th grade, he entered the State Vocational Educational Institution “Interregional Higher Vocational School of Motor Transport and Construction”.

He worked as a manager in a chain of retail outlets in Lviv.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he defended the state from the occupiers. He performed combat missions to defend the sovereignty and independence of Ukraine in the ranks of the 53rd separate mechanised brigade named after Prince Volodymyr Monomakh of the operational command “East” of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Volodymyr Mylian is survived by his mother, wife, two daughters, sisters and nephews.
